Active and sporty activities in Norway

Norway is definitely the place for people who enjoy an active outdoor life, with many places to go, and a wide choice of sports to experience.

You can check out "sporty outdoor" trips out in our main attractions guide -
around 13 in the mountains of Agder and Rogaland, for example

or you can search over 130 trips out to find what interests you - and if you can't find it, let us know - we have over 100 more trips not yet published

Summer activities

The summer has hiking, climbing, surfing, wind-surfing, canoeing, cycling and a host of other activities.
For the more adventurous, there is base jumping at Kjerag near Lysebotn in Lysefjord. We hope there will also be downhill biking at some of the ski resorts next summer.
We have a list of "vertigo view" hikes: Pulpit Rock, Kjerag and Skomakernibbå - with more to be added - so if the picture on the right looks interesting then get your boots on.

Winter activities

The winter brings out the skiers - cross-country, alpine, telemark, snow-boarding, or kite-skiing - plus ice skating at arenas or on lakes of course (and the surfers never seem to know when to give up!)
